Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in
heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Matthew 5:12 (KJV)
All of us are
familiar with the numerous reward cards available at many retail and grocery
stores. These reward cards, when used correctly, result in a discount on
products or accumulation of points that can be applied to future purchases with
a reduction in price. These reward cards can be specific to products.
Well each day of
our walk with God is accumulating reward points. These reward points will
result in the ultimate reward: Eternal Life and God esteeming us with a Well done
thy good and faithful servant message. Our ability to accumulate a reward is
completely dependent on our ability to walk in the love of Christ. In Matthew
25:31-46, Jesus describes his return with the example of a shepherd and his
sheep. Jesus explains how when he
comes back in his glory he will separate his people as a shepherd separates sheep from the goats. Jesus goes on to describe how the sheep will be placed at his right hand. Jesus' sheep are the ones who fed him when he was hungry, gave him drink when he was thirsty, invited him into their home when he was a stranger, clothed him when he was naked, took care of him when he was sick, and visited him when he was imprisoned.

Jesus explains
that the righteous will ask when these things were done for him, and he will
reply if these things were done to the least of people it was done to him. This
is a powerful message and our ultimate opportunity to gain a reward. When we
are walking in love we should feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the imprisoned,
etc. These things shouldn't be done to boast and brag of our works, but should
be done to the glory of God. When we boast of our works we receive the reward
and no glory goes to God.
When you use your
reward card on items that aren't on special you receive no reward points. Well
this is exactly the same with our Love Walk. If we do the things outlined in
the Word of God our life is always on "special." The question is....
Are you accumulating reward points?? Is your life reflective to God?? Are you
feeding and clothing those in need?? Are your works for the glory of God or for
you to stand out?? Evaluate yourself!! Those things out of order please subject
them to God's correction. Redirect your prospective and watch your points in
the Lambs Book of Life begin to accumulate!!
God bless you!!
